…Building Strength in a cooperative way

Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative conducted a team building activity. The team Building activity initiated to strengthen the understanding of the group/team towards reaching the common goal of the organization and to solicit opinions and ideas to enable officers and management enact the right method of perpetuating the organization’s mission and vision. At the same time uphold optimistic work attitude through the inputs from the resource Speaker.

The three days activity was held at Naomis Botanical Garden, Banadero Ozamis City On July 18, 19 and 20, 2011.

Mr. Baltazar Tribunalo the resource speaker from Climate and Disaster Risk Management of Plan International shared an inspiring message how he was able to go through his very challenging life from his young age until he got married. The most interesting and overwhelming part is when he shared the Foundation to Emotional Health which is the 5 A’s ACCEPTANCE, APPRECIATION, APPROVAL AFFIRMATION and AFFECTION. The sharing and the activities conducted were all very helpful in making the participants challenge to make changes.

The activity were able to change the perception of individuals in term of making the right decision in life and help them increase their level of maturity as person and as part of the mission to make change in the lives of others.

The activity developed the genuine teamwork, commitment; cooperation, resilience, camaraderie, unity, leadership and strength that will help GDMPC achieve its mission.

 

Gata Daku MPC   conducted  Community Management Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR)  
 

training participated by the Barangay Officials in different Barangay of Clarin Misamis Occidental. The training’s goal is to reduce vulnerabilities and strengthen people’s capacities to cope with any danger or disaster.

Risk and disaster solutions are realistic when the community feels responsive and involved in the disaster mitigation processes.  This will lead to more effective and sustainable mitigation that is integrated as part of development process. Sustainable cooperation development can reduce vulnerability by addressing the root causes of disasters. It was a very productive two- days training. The input has a great essence to the participants. They were able to identify capacities of the community where they belong and recognized the solutions come from within the community itself, making them stronger and self reliant. One of the outputs of the training is a disaster risk management plan which will be integrated in their community development plan.
